China Mobile Communications Corporation (CMCC): Autonomous and Intelligent-connected Cars Under 5G Era

With the leapfrog development of communication technology, intelligent transportation will enter into an updated field. China Mobile Communications Corporation (CMCC) officially announced at a press conference that the company will build a new national-centralized IoV (Internet of vehicles) company that will reportedly become China Mobile's sales mainstay as well as the construction and operation body in traffic industry. CMCC is recently developing the nationwide narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) network and to push its testing for Internet of things and 5G network.
Dr. Chen Wei,Chief Scientist of China Mobile Communications Corporation (CMCC) recently indicates in an industrial related summit, said Intelligent-connected cars is one of the IoT vertical field and strategic plan for CMCC.“In the IoT filed, the Intelligent-connected cars was obviously an application of IoT technologies, which was given high expectations by the markets. Although enterprises show great enthusiasm on connected-cars market, the Business Model of V2X (vehicle to everything)still remains numerous challenges”introduced by Chen Wei, “China Mobile Communications Corporation development technology is leading the development of standardization, testing and coordination, pushing the industry to be mature.”
