In 2017 McKinsey released the report on Intensive, Intelligent, Leap-forward Development of Retail Banking. "The retailer will get the future.” Commercial banks in developed countries and regions account for more than 50% of retail business, and retail business has become the main growth point of China's commercial banks' profits.
2017年麦肯锡发布了《集约化、智能化、跨越式发展零售银行之路》报告。报告指出,面对利率市场化和互联网金融崛起的双重冲击,中国银行业的资金成本水涨船高,利差持续收窄,传统业务也不断受到蚕食。而业界已有共识,“得零售者得未来”。发达国家和地区商业银行的零售业务比重高达50%以上,零售业务已成为中国商业银行利润的主要增长点。

Since 2009, the income of retail banks has increased by 23% per year. It is expected that by 2020, the overall scale will reach 3 trillion and 200 billion yuan, and the loan assets will reach 32 trillion yuan, the world's second largest retail bank second only to the United States.
自2009年起,零售银行收入以每年23%的速度递增,预计到2020年整体规模将达到3.2万亿元人民币,贷款资产规模将达到32万亿元人民币,成为仅次于美国的全球第二大零售银行市场。 从长远来说,大力发展零售银行业务已成为银行业对未来竞争环境下战略选择的共识。近年来,新常态下的商业银行零售业务已经发挥了稳定全行业务的根基作用,成为商业银行发展的“压仓石”和“稳定器”。
