Overseas companies active in China CSP market
As CSP Focus series reports say, China is entering a new age for CSP industry triggered by positive news from government like “Notification on Organizing the Construction of 1GW CSP Pilot Projects” announced by China National Energy Administration on Sept. 30 2015, and target of CSP capacity for 13th Five-year (2016-2020) is suggested as 10GW in last December.
Facing such a big cake of market, Chinese local companies are not that experienced in commercial CSP plant development, construction and key components and technologies. It is great time for foreign companies with experience and advanced technologies to enter China market by cooperating with local enterprises. Predicatively, a large number of overseas manufacturers, project developers/EPCs, technology/services providers will enter Chinese market in the near future. As a technology-intensive industry, CSP development will be quickly and effectively boosted with overseas players’ involvement. Those who have been devoting to the market are bound to be the first batch of beneficiaries in the booming market of China.
Developers/EPCs are represented by Spanish enterprises like Abengoa, ARIES, ENGIE, Ingeteam, Ameriacan BrightSource, SolarReserve, Indian Cargo Power, Lanco, and others like ACWA, Ener-T. ARIES and Ingeteam are working for China first parabolic trough project CGN Solar Delingha 50MW as OE and BE respectively, BrightSource is developing first phase two 135 MW plants with 3.5 hours thermal energy storage for each tower with its Chinese partners Shanghai Electric and Huanghe Hydropower.
There are also excellent foreign enterprises providing key components, technologies, materials and services active in China CSP market. For instance, vendors of receiver tube like Schott, Rioglass and Archimede; Reflector Flabeg, Rioglass, AGC and Thermosol; HTF Solutia, Dow Chemical and Wacker; Pumps and valves Ensival Moret, Friatec, KSB, Flowserve, Pentair, Samson, Weir and IMI; Tracking and structure system HAWE, ArcelorMittal, Schaeffler, Scheider, Auma Drives, Pepperl Fuchs; TES & Power Block Eurotecnica, NEST, MAN, Siemens, Aalborg; Other services like TUV, Flexim, Eltherm and Promat.
