Qiu Hemei talks on strategy of CGN CSP project development
CGN Solar Company is the owner and developer of China first parabolic trough CSP commercial project—CGN Delingha 50MW CSP project. Mr. Qiu Hemei, as the Chief Engineer & Deputy General Manager has been fully involved in the whole process of project development and construction since the year of 2011. Recently Mr. Qiu talks on the strategic development and progress of CGN’s CSP business.
“Speaking of CSP development, CGN Solar follows the instruction from National Energy Bureau, namely focus on four aspects: research on key technology, manufacturing of key components, big pilot projects development and technical innovations. To realize the goals, we planned a CSP park in Delingha, Qinghai, paying much attention on both R&D platform and commercial project development. Two pilot CSP plants, one parabolic trough and one molten salt tower. The Delingha 50MW plant is actually Phase One of the 100MW parabolic trough project.”
Mr. Qiu agrees that FiT supported from the government has been a crucial issue since the very beginning of the project, “FiT is indeed a decisive factor for many of our determinations. And the price is expected to be around RMB 0.85/kwh in the following decade. To ensure the success of the project with total investment of RMB 2 billion, we take the mode of CGN Solar as the owner and developer, inviting overseas experienced engineering consultants, three EPCs and purchasing some of the key components and materials by ourselves.” The details of CGN Solar Delingha 50MW project biddings are as below:
