It is my greatest pleasure, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, to welcome you to attend the Deep Offshore Southeast Asia Congress, which will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia during July 2-3, 2019.
In Southeast Asia, numerous world-class projects are in the pipeline, including IDD 2nd Stage and Abadi in Indonesia, Kasawari in Malaysia and Block B in Vietnam. Geographically, the Rakhine basin in Myanmar has been something of a bright spot for new frontiers, and has seen significant investment in both exploratory drilling and onshore infrastructure. In total, the region has 49 crude and natural gas projects expected to start operations in six countries from 2018 to 2025. Among countries, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam are expected to be the highest capex spenders on key planned projects with about $9.3bn, $4.4bn, and $1.1bn, respectively, during 2018–2025. Regarding early-stage projects, Indonesia is expected to be the top spender among countries in the region with a capex of $28.5bn, followed by Malaysia with $13.6bn and Vietnam with $11.1bn. Besides, Indonesia, Myanmar and the Philippines are set to launch new bid rounds and offer new acreage in 2019.
The congress in Jakarta will bring SEA countries together with governmental senior officials, representatives from NOCs, oil majors, independent oil companies, EPCs as well as other offshore players and experts, to gain insight and share knowledge based on national policy and strategy, regulatory framework and fiscal terms, new bidding rounds and project updates, as well as Digital Innovations. This event aims to bring together local and international professionals to address cutting-edge issues and emerging trends which affect and even lead the deepwater and offshore industry in Southeast Asia. This conference is a "must-attend" for anyone who wants to stay current and on top of industry trends and developments. It will offer you a comprehensive coverage of the innovations happening around and will happen in the coming years in SEA region and worldwide. Meanwhile, for those who are keen to find new investment opportunities or strengthen their presence in Southeast Asia, our two-day event will also provide a cozy platform to meet your future partner.
We are looking forward to meeting you in Jakarta!
