IntecSea has completed pre-FEED Pecan ultra-deepwater project off Ghana, and most industry sources expect the Australian-owned contractor to secure the FEED contract. INTECSEA’s low motion (LM) floater technology is set to significantly reduce field development CAPEX and OPEX. This robust and low-tech solution comprises field-proven components that have been in service for more than 20 years, and can be applied to new-build or conversion floaters: FPSOs, FLNGs, and semi-submersibles. International offshore oil and gas engineering company, McDermott, has expressed its interest to strengthen its presence and activities in Ghana from where it will drive its expansion into the rest of Africa. The company, which provides a complete offshore value chain services from engineering, procurement, construction and installation services for upstream field developments worldwide, said it saw opportunities in Ghana’s oil sector and was ready to maintain its presence in the country for the long haul.
