In 2016, FinTech market received a lot of attention in Thailand, with various new FinTech products being introduced and a number of developments in the legal landscape.

The Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Thailand issued a consultation paper on regulatory sandbox for securities and derivatives businesses with the purpose to support the use of FinTech in the capital markets, such as robo advisor, algorithmic trading, algorithm-based investment advisory, etc.

This regulatory sandbox will provide a safe space for business operators to test the financial innovation in capital markets. Business operators who apply to be the regulatory sandbox participants will not need to obtain the licenses from the SEC during the designated participation period of not more than one year. The experimentory business must only involve small scale investors and comply with the conditions during the participation to ensure that the investors will get appropriate protection and limit the impact on investors and capital markets.

up to 40M baht in total by using crowdfunding platforms.
Investors:
Invest no more than 50,000 baht per company; no more than 500,000 baht per year

With extensive experience in capital market, she has made significant contributions to developmentsinmany areas,includinglaying out the groundwork for the establishment of the Thai Bond Market Association, drafting the Derivatives Act, supporting the launch of Thailand Futures Exchangeand formulating the strategic plan for ASEANcapital market integration.

Currently, she holds several policy and advisory level positions, including Member of the Sub-committee to draft Thailand Capital Market Development Plan, Member of the Committee on Regional Capital Market Integration, Member of the Committee to Propose Legal Amendments for FinTech Development and Supervision, Member of the Pension Reform Committee and Member of the Capital Market Clearing and Settlement Sub-committee
