It is my pleasure to welcome you to attend the 4th Global Dairy Congress Africa 2019 event, which will be held on July 4-5, 2019 in Abuja, Nigeria.
African dairy industry has been rising fast, pushed by regional GDP Growth, Liberalization, Regional Economic Integration, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), EAC, COMESA and SADC Tripartite Agreement, CADDP Agreement, Growing middle class, Urbanization and Population Growth factors. Sustainable local milk value chain development projects have been raised from milk production, collection, transformation to distribution.
Nigeria is a huge market for investment in Dairy. With an increasing human population and high demand for milk and milk products, it provides a ready market for investors. Milk powder accounts for over 75% of inputs. Substitution policy to increase local will indirectly discourage the importation of powdered milk and improve backward integration of the dairy industry. Large scale commercial players will be encouraged to invest in the dairy sector with the new trend and this will open many opportunities for collaboration.
4th Global Dairy Congress Africa 2019 aims to be the most influential dairy event in Africa to help accelerating African dairy value chain development, by gathering 150+ regional and international dairy community to gain first-hand information on African dairy investment opportunities, accelerate African dairy sector upgrading, enhance dairy availability and affordability, dairy products and innovation trends analysis, together with dairy farm visit and farm-site workshop to generate more growth opportunities.
I look forward to your participation in 4th Global Dairy Congress Africa 2019.
