Home 丨Register 丨Speaker丨Agenda Dear Colleague, Nigeria spends an estimated amount of $1.3 billion on the importation of dairy product. Meanwhile, the government’s target is to double the milk production over the next 3 to 4 years. Nigeria, as the biggest dairy importation country in West Africa, milk powder importation occupied 75% dairy industry because of lower productivity. Facing the situation, some leading dairy processors have entered into the Nigeria dairy market, such as Arla Foods. Arla Foods has made a pledge to invest in local dairy production in Nigeria and signed a deal with Nigeria's federal government to help develop the dairy sector. In an Interview, Vice President, Sub-sahara Africa Region of Arla Foods said, we are committed to the proper development of the dairy sector and the technical know-how to farmers in Nigeria by signing this MOU. In July 4-5, Cairo, Egypt, Arla Foods’s Vice President, Sub-sahara Africa Region confirmed to attend 2nd Global Dairy Congress MEA 2017 (The only Dairy Event in Middle East and Africa) to make the presentation.
