InsurTech enablers are already covering the insurance value chain. There is no doubt that digital transformation in the insurance industry creates significant challenges for established companies and two factors that are critical to digital success-Big Data and Artificial Intelligence. Insurers that have repositories of big data have the potential to improve a number of practices, including how policies are priced and how fraud is detected. AI is already being used for tasks such as spotting potentially fraudulent activity on the basis of claim patterns. But the technology has the potential to revolutionize the industry, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of every aspect, no matter how complex.

To adapt to the changing environment, Swiss Re launched 'InsurTech' startup accelerator since 2016.  It work to support clients with its risk knowledge, build on strong partnerships and leverage technological innovation to meet a growing need for insurance coverage.

Keynote speech on Session: Leverage the Potential of Data to Enhance Pricing, Underwriting and Claims.
*Eric joined the Swiss Re Group in Beijing in 2008 as Director of Business Development for China. Two years later, he became Head of Business Development for Asia. In 2011, he was appointed as Swiss Re’s Head of Investor Relations, based in Zurich. In August 2014, Eric moved to the Casualty Underwriting Division as Head Casualty Centre. In May 2017, he was appointed as Global Head P&C Solutions. Prior to joining Swiss Re, Eric was Head of Investor Relations at DEPFA Bank in London and before that he worked several years as Head of Corporate Communications at Hannover Re in Germany.
