El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant is the first nuclear power plant planned for Egypt and will be located at El Dabaa, Matrouh Governorate, Egypt, which is about 290 Kilometers northwest of Cairo. The plant will have four VVER-1200 reactors, making Egypt the only country in the region to have a Generation III+ reactor.

The first phase of the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority's (EAEA) uranium compound plant, set to service the Dabaa nuclear power plant, is now complete, EAEA deputy head Khaled Sakr tells Al Mal. The second phase, which will set up production lines, is scheduled for completion by the end of 2020.
