An International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) team of experts has concluded a five-day Site and External Events Design (SEED) mission to Turkey.

Nigeria has a committed regulatory body that works for the continuous improvement of nuclear and radiation safety, an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) peer review mission has concluded.

Dr. Greg Rzentkowski, Director, Division of Nuclear Installation Safety, Department of Nuclear Safety and Security from IAEA addressed a keynote speech at the 4th Turkey MENA Nuclear Industry Congress 2016. And IAEA will also present at the 5th Turkey –Middle East and Africa Nuclear Industry Congress 2017 on October18-19 in Istanbul, Turkey.

“We have become the showcase of how to develop a civil nuclear power plant from scratch,” says Mohamed Al Hammadi, CEO of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation. The UAE, he believes, has become “a role model” for the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

The first of four nuclear reactors is now 96 per cent completed. All major testing is finished and the enriched uranium that will fuel the reactor is stored and ready to be loaded.
