Hi there,

The renaissance in nuclear power is in full swing around the world, just not so much in the West.
Nuclear power is not a prevalent source of energy in Latin America. Argentina is Latin America’s leading nuclear nation and a major nuclear player. Argentina has three nuclear reactors generating about 10% of its electricity. In the past few months Argentina has catapulted to the front end of global attention on new nuclear builds with deals for three new nuclear reactors, two from China and one from Russia.

In addition, the country has its own nuclear R&D program which supports the development of a 25 MB SMR based on PWR designs. The National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA) was resulted in a spate of activity centered on nuclear R&D, including construction of several research reactors, Such as small locally-designed power reactor prototype, CAREM-25.

2nd World Nuclear New Build Congress (UK) 2015 invites Mr. Osvaldo CalzettaLarrieu, CAREM Area Manager of National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA), Argentina to offer you the latest progress of nuclear new build program in Argentina, which will including:

♦ Nuclear Reactors under Construction and Further Proposed Nuclear Capacity
♦ The latest information of cooperation with China National Nuclear Corporation
♦ CAREM-25 in Argentina: Design, Timeline, and the plan to go abroad
