Recently, Horizon Nuclear Power announced on 4th April that it has applied for a nuclear site license for the proposed development of WylfaNewydd nuclear power plant in North Wales. The Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR), the Environment Agency and Natural Resources Wales announced on 22 March, they expect to complete the Generic Design Assessment of the UK ABWR in December. According to timeline, the construction of WylfaNewydd will be started in 2019. Actually,the MoU is signed between Hitachi Nuclear Energy Europe, Ltd., Bechtel, and JGC corporation. Once the further details are confirmed, the joint venture will work as a Tier-1 contractor to Horizon, responsible for engineering, procurement and construction of the WylfaNewydd project.
