Neil is a principal nuclear inspector, chartered chemical engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers with 34 years' engineering experience; 28 of which are in the nuclear sector and the last 15 within the regulatory field.
Neil has both worked and regulated across the whole of the nuclear fuel cycle at a national and international level and has recently returned from working for the OECD-NEA in Paris where he was for three years the Deputy Division Head of the Nuclear Safety Division managing their international nuclear safety collaborative research portfolio on behalf of member countries.
Neil is currently responsible for the delivery of effective science related regulation of the UK ABWR from GDA through licensing to build and for co-ordinating all stakeholder engagement with the ABWR programme. |

Giovanbattista Patalano

Giovanbattista originally joined AREVA in 2007 as a project manager, and developed a focus in nuclear business development, bidding contracts in the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain and Italy. In 2011, he was appointed as Business Director for the nuclear waste management sector and MOX fuel fabrication projects, and was then named Deputy Managing Director and Head of Engineering of the recently formed AREVA Projects UK in 2016. Prior to joining AREVA, Giovanbattista worked as project manager for Sogin in Rome, Italy, and as a research scientist in Cadarache, France for the Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique.
