WHAT IS ENIC 2024?

Dear Colleagues,

It's my greatest pleasure, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, to welcome you to attend The 9th European Nuclear Industry Congress 2024 (ENIC 2024), which will take place during Sep 16-18, in Paris, France.

We have successfully held this congress for eight times. It is one of the most recognized and best established nuclear industry conference in Europe, which will cover the whole industry chain. In 2024, this annual international event will move from London to Paris and let’s enjoy a great time there again.

Nuclear power has been added to Europe‘s list of “strategic’ technologies as part of draft legislation that it means it will benefit from improved investment conditions and streamlined licensing procedures, particularly for France, UK and etc. In February 2022 France announced plans to build six new reactors and to consider building a further eight. Meanwhile, UK Government plans call for up to 24 GW of new nuclear capacity by 2050 to provide about 25% of electricity. Moreover, In November 2023, Swedish government announced plans to construct two large-scale reactors by 2035 and the equivalent of 10 new reactors, including small modular reactors, by 2045.

The European Commission (EC) has given formal start of a European Industrial Alliance on Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) along with non-binding recommendations to further cut greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 with the ultimate goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050.

The 9th ENIC 2024 aims to bring together companies involved in all areas of the nuclear power plant life cycle to address latest European nuclear market opportunities, update on new build, life extension & decommissioning projects in the whole Europe, share good practices for ongoing and planned projects, together with innovative technology demonstration platform to accelerate business cooperation for European market.

This congress is a "must-attend" for anyone who wants to stay current and on top of industry trends and developments. Meanwhile, for those who are keen to find new investment opportunities or strengthen their presence in this market, our two-day event will also provide a cozy platform to meet your future partners.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Paris!

Best regards, Organizing Committee of The 9th European Nuclear Industry Congress 2024 (ENIC 2024)
