Professor Grzegorz Wrochna

• Born in 1962 in Radom, Poland
• Graduated at the Warsaw University Physics Faculty, assistant 1986-1991
• Between 1991 and 1998 worked at the CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research in Geneva on designing and construction of Large Hadron Collider experiments
• After coming back to Poland started to work in the Andrzej Soltan Institute for Nuclear Studies at Swierk, since 2006 the director of the institute.
• Currently director of National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ) at Otwock-Swierk.
• Professor since 2009
• Vice-chair of Euratom-Fission Consultative Committee (till 2013)
• Member of the Governing Board of European Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform
• Member of the Council of European-XFEL GmBH
• Represents Poland in several international bodies, including:
• Nuclear Science Committee of OECD’s Nuclear Energy Agency
• Committee on the Safety of Nuclear Installations of OECD’s Nuclear Energy Agency
