Mr. Werdine is Brazilian citizen, living and working in Europe for more than 13 years. Currently he is the Deputy Head of the Department of New Nuclear Build at Iberdrola Engineering and Construction in Madrid, Spain. He led the team who prepared the initial version of the document Bid Inquiry Specification (BIS) for the new plants at the Sellafield site in the UK. He also led the team of Iberdrola that prepared the technical offer for the PGE Owner’s Engineer offer. Before that assignment he was the head of the Operating Experience Unit at the Division of Nuclear Installation and Safety at the International Atomic Energy Agency, the IAEA, as Senior Safety Officer . At the IAEA he worked for 7 years leading many safety and technical missions to more than 20 countries worldwide. And before that he was the Plant Director of the Angra Nuclear Power Plant in Brazil, a site with two reactors of 2000MW in operation and one in construction.
