Ms. Katerina Kostadinova is head of Nuclear Energy Security Unit with the Ministry of Economy and Energy of Bulgaria. Current nuclear experience includes: Coordination and control of the implementation of measures laid down in the national Strategy on the safe management of spent fuel and radioactive waste. Monitoring of projects for lifetime extension of Units 5-6 of Kozloduy NPP and of Units 1-4 of Kozloduy NPP decommissioning as well as of projects related to the radioactive waste management, including the construction the National disposal facility for radioactive waste.
Prior to the Ministry of Economy and Energy she has been employed by the Civil Protection State Agency – head of Nuclear, chemical and biological protection unit.
Ms. Kostadinova has in total more than 20 years of experience in the field of ionizing radiations measurements, emergency planning and preparedness, radiation protection, formulation and implementation of state policies on radioactive waste management and nuclear energy use. |
