Geosciences Ongoing Offshore Mexico

Dear Offshore Colleague,

Good news, a new 3D multiclient reimaging broadband program has been announced offshore Mexico by Schlumberger WesternGeco and ION Geophysical, which fast-track data are available for Round 1.4 deepwater bid preparation decisions, with Mexico's National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) data library.

Earlier this year, CNH authorized CGG a multi-client airborne gravity and magnetic survey offshore Mexico, providing coverage from the prolific Perdido fold belt with AOI 1, to the more mature near-shore heavy oil belt with AOI 6. The data will help explorers map crystalline basement and magnetic and density anomalies within the sedimentary section.

 

As Mexican government launching the new bid rounds, the geosciences survey holds a vital space in the domestic offshore sector. Therefore, Head of National Data Repository, CNH and President, SMIS will indicate the latest data & geosciences status on Offshore Mexico Congress 2016 (OMC 2016) (Nov. 17-18, Mexico City).
