Hi,

The Governments of Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and South Sudan are committed to providing high capacity cost effective railway transport within the Northern Corridor. This will be achieved through the construction of the proposed Standard Gauge Railway connecting Mombasa to Malaba onward to Kampala, Kigali and Juba.

African countries will benefit from the Standard Gauge Railway development, while challenges also exist.

As a result, Rail Expansion & Technology Congress Africa 2015 invited Eng Solomon Ouna, Railway Project Manger of Kenya Railways. He is responsible for the Mombasa-Narobi standard gauge railway project. This time, with his rich experience, he will share his insight on Standard Gauge Railway development in the East African Region - financing and other general challenges.
