Alstom won contracts worth $3 billion to make electric engines for India’s congested state-owned railway and Alstom will build a factory in the eastern state of Bihar. The factories will be built through a public-private partnership model and structured as joint ventures with Indian Railways.
As frontrunner to win multibillion-dollar contract in India, Alstom has rich experience on business strategies to dealing with India rail industry policy and regulator, financial mode, localization requirements and high-tech technologies.
