Stefan Eisenbach studied Meteorology and Geography at the University of Vienna and the Institute of Mountain Risk Engineering at the Austrian University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences. In his research career, Mr. Eisenbach was responsible for large-scale field measuring campaigns in mountainous terrain and worked as a researcher at the Pacific Northwest Laboratory (PNNL) of the US Department of Energy (DOE). After building up his experience in aviation meteorology, Mr. Eisenbach joined UBIMET in 2004, where he is responsible for meteorological networks (e.g. testing of new sensors) and for all railway sector research and development activities. In addition, Mr. Eisenbach is involved in the implementation of meteorological information systems and the development of alert systems for the Austrian Federal Railways.
