      | Dear Colleague,
You may know that Poland is initially planning to build NPP with total 6 GWt by 2035, but the NPP projects was postponed, although recently the government released some good signal to begin a reactor technology selection process in 2018. Here are part of our survey feedback for milestones and updates of Poland NPP program: |
      |

          | ♦ | Report on the implementation in 2014-2015 of the PNPP has been adopted by the Government on 2016.10.14. Poland will build three units (of the nuclear power plant) in 5-year intervals, with the first one in 2029. Their initial estimates show that one unit will cost 23-25 billion zlotys ($7 billion). |
          | ♦ | In January 2010 PGE EJ1 was then set up as a limited liability company, and in April 2015 there was a further announcement that  KGHM Polska Miedz SA (31.8% state-owned) and power utilities Tauron Polska Energia SA (30% state-owned) and ENEA  had acquired the 30% equity in PGE EJ1, with PGE retaining 70%. |
          | ♦ | June 2014, announced its selection of AMEC Nuclear UK, now AMEC Foster Wheeler. The owner’s engineer will help select the EPC contractor, oversee project management and supply chain contract management, as well as regulatory aspects. |
          | ♦ | August 2015: Environmental Impact Asessment procedure initiated through submittal of NPP Project Information Sheet and EIA application. Two out of three candidate sites considered for full site characterisation: Choczewo, Lubiatowo-Kopalino (alternative to Choczewo) and Żarnowiec . |
          | ♦ | Until now: Six companies had expressed interest in bidding: GE Hitachi, Kepco, SNC-Lavalin, Westinghouse and EdF/Areva, CGN. |
          | ♦ | Recently: updated version of the PNPP will be presented until the end of 2017. PNPP is currently being revised in terms of schedule and financing method. |
          | One of the project’s major obstacles has been financing. State-run, Poland’s biggest power firm which was responsible for it, failed to take it to a decisive phase. The energy ministry is now working on a new financing plan, which was supposed to be ready by end of June. When it is ready, it will be presented to the government, which will take the final decision.
