It is my greatest pleasure, on behalf of the Organizing Committee to welcome you to attend the International Smart Logistics & Supply Chain Congress China 2018 (ISLC), to be held on January 16-17, 2018, in Shanghai, China.  
2018中国智慧物流与供应链国际峰会(ISLC)将于2018年1月16-17日于中国上海隆重召开。我谨代表组委会邀请您参加此次盛会。

China has become the biggest logistics market in the world, and logistics has played a very important role in manufacturing and retail industries. While compared with other developed countries, the logistics costs in China are still very high and the logistics efficiency is still very low. It is becoming more and more urgent in China to improve the performance of logistics.
中国已经成为世界上最大的物流市场。物流在制造业和零售业中扮演着非常重要的角色。但是与其他发达国家相比，中国的物流费用依然很高，物流效率却很低。物流领域的降本增效迫在眉睫。

The developments of smart manufacturing and new retail have even magnified the problem, and it has become a common sense to accelerate logistics industry and to transform its development. The maturity of new technologies such as internet, AI, big data, cloud computing, VR/AR, blockchain, etc, enables the digital transformation of logistics. Moreover, with the strong supports from the government, smart logistics has already become a popular trend in China.
智能制造和新零售的发展更是放大了这一矛盾。加快物流业的发展，改变物流发展模式已成为行业共识。新技术，如互联网、人工智能、大数据、云计算、VR/AR，区块链等的成熟为物流业的数字化转型提供支撑。国家密集出台的支持政策更是让智慧物流成为了主流趋势。

Besides digital transformation to improve performance, the smart manufacturing and new retail enterprises also require logistics to be more involved into their supply chain management process. Therefore, more and more 3PL extend their businesses to supply chain management to better serve their customers.
除了要求物流业数字化转型，智能制造和新零售企业对物流在其供应链管理中也提出了更高要求。因此，越来越多的第三方物流公司开始将其业务延伸到供应链管理领域，以提供更好的服务。

It’s under this background, the International Smart Logistics & Supply Chain Congress China 2018 comes into place. And it’s designed to gather manufacturing, retail and logistics experts both from home and abroad together to explore the real needs for smart logistics, the future trends, and the opportunities & challenges ahead. The congress also will introduce the best practices in smart logistics and supply chain management around the world.
正是基于这样的背景，2018中国智慧物流与供应链国际峰会应运而生。峰会将汇集国内外制造业、零售业和物流业的专家，共同探讨智慧物流发展的真正需求、未来趋势、机遇与挑战。同时，峰会将引入国内外最佳的智慧物流与供应链管理实践。
