Hi, Usually, nuclear waste is kept in temporary facilities overground, but Finland has decided to bury all of its nuclear waste for 100,000 years. A series of tunnels are being excavated more than 420 meters below ground, and it will cost $4 billion. Fennovoima has reached agreement with Posiva concerning cooperation on nuclear waste management. This cooperation involves research and development tasks connected with the final disposal of spent nuclear fuel. As Finnish nuclear waste management company with pioneering R&D initiative, Posiva will responsible for the final disposal of spent nuclear fuel. Posiva has rich knowledge and practice experience on spent radioactive material management. This time, Mr. Mika Pohjonen, Sales Director of Posiva will be the representative to share his rich experience at World Nuclear Decommissioning & Waste Management Congress (Europe) 2016 (Sept 12-14, London).
