Hi, The decommissioning of Fukushima-Daiichi NPP has concentrated expertise and technologies support from the U.S. and France. The U.S. will help Japan develop equipment and technology to manage and dispose of radioactive waste produced from the decommissioning work. France will cooperate with Japan in developing remote-control technology that can withstand high-radiation environments. However, the decommissioning of Fukushima No. 1 is harder than expected. Fumio Sudo, chairman of TEPCO Holdings, expressed fear that the company will face increased costs of shutting down the plant, pointing out that the decommission project is "work that nobody in the world has experienced." World Nuclear Decommissioning & Waste Management Congress (Europe) 2016 (Sept 12-14, London) is glad to confirmed the participation of Mr. Takafumi Ihara from Tokyo Electric Power Company and he will speech on Decommissioning Work Status at Fukushima-Daiichi NPP in Japan.
