In Bulgaria, Rosatom Services and Bulgaria's Risk Engineering Ltd signed a contract to extend the operating period of Kozloduy unit 6 to 60 years since its’ operating license expires in October 2019. Recently, Bulgarian Atomic Forum (BULATOM) and Rosatom announced that work to upgrade Bulgaria Kozloduy 5 nuclear plant has been completed, extending its operations by 30 years to 2047. Actually, units 5 and 6 provide around 1/3 of Bulgaria's electricity, however, to meet the demands, the Kozloduy 7 is still in the construction preparation..
