| Dear colleagues, Deputy Energy Minister Joseph Cudjoe has indicated that Norwegian oil company, Aker Energy, has completed all the relevant agreements to commence operations in Ghana. The company is expected to begin oil exploration at the end of 2021 after it acquired Hess Corporation’s stake in the Deepwater Tano Cape Three Points block in the Western region this year. Aker Energy would work towards a long presence in Ghana that would benefit both parties – from society and communities to owners, partners and suppliers. A number of Aker companies have been present in the Ghanaian industry for years, and Aker Energy intends to play a significant role in building up the Ghanaian oil and gas industry going forward. The Pecan development project in the DWT/CTP will be the fourth producing field offshore Ghana and the first stage in Aker Energy’s journey in Ghana.
