Welcome Message

Dear Industry Colleagues,
It is my greatest pleasure, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, to welcome you to attend the 4th Deepwater East & Southern Africa Congress, which will take place in Maputo, Mozambique during March 28-29th, 2018.

A rebound in oil and gas market would activate a great surge in offshore and deepwater activities in the next 5 years. Global deepwater expenditure is estimated to total $120 billion over the 2017-2021 period, with traditional deepwater countries in Africa and the Americas expected to drive near-term capex. Furthermore, several African offshore developments are forecast to support expenditure during the latter years of the forecast period, including increased activities offshore East Africa, among other areas. Eni has made final investment decision on Coral South offshore Mozambique this year. Tanzania is also progressing on its offshore blocks. More seismic or drilling activities are going on in other countries like Namibia, South Africa, Madagascar, which enjoy untapped oil and gas potential. The region would soon become super hotspot of oil & gas E&P activities.

This 4th Deepwater East & Southern Africa Congress 2018 will bring emerging countries across the East & Southern Africa together with government senior officials, representatives from NOCs, international oil operators, EPCs as well as other offshore players and experts, to gain insight and share knowledge concerning new policy, regulation, local content requirements, E&P project updates and innovative technologies. It is not only a great chance to unlock the region’s potential and investment opportunities in deep offshore oil & gas sector, but also a cozy platform for high-level networking.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Maputo!

Best regards,

Organizing Committee of the 4th Deepwater East & Southern Africa Congress 2018
