The government plans to launch the 10th round of auctions of oil and gas exploration blocks under the New Exploration Licensing Policy (NELP) in the next 6-12 months, Indian petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan said last month.
In Round NELP-Ⅹ, 14 deepwater blocks with gas discovering from state-run oil companies ONGC & OIL will be auctioned. As for the regulations, NELP-Ⅹis expected to be held with a new revenue-sharing model that bidders should offer revenue share to the government upfront and a new uniform licensing regime, which means under a single contract, drilling of all forms of hydrocarbons could be done.
