In deepwater India, the complicated characterization of environment makes Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) getting more noticed and the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) of India has been in a great effort in it these years.
One of the most prominent deepwater projects, KG-DWN-98/2 by ONGC has presented its EIA report for Environment Clearance to the development drilling of 45 wells, FPSO, Offshore Platform, Subsea Equipment and Pipelines earlier this year. Besides, BP also indicated that environmental surveys in its deepwater areas to better understand these ecosystems and manage the impact of development makes great sense.
