Glad to tell you that ONGC has confirmed the speaker for project updates on Deepwater India Congress 2015 (Nov. 26-27, New Delhi) - Ajay Kumar Dwivedi, Director (Exploration) of ONGC.
While ONGC says that cost in its KG Basin deepwater block is irrespective of gas or oil price, the government has reduced the company’s subsidy obligation and agreed to the premium pricing for difficult fields which will further help ONGC with its investment in its deepwater blocks. On DIC 2015, the spotlight will be KG-DWN-98/2 which is ONGC’s flagship. Recent update on KG-DWN-98/2(KG-D5):
♦ More gas discovery in KG-DWN-98/2. [May, 2015]
♦ ONGC will invest $6-7 billion to cluster II of the northern discovery area of the KG-DWN-98/2 over the next three years and a draft field development plan (FDP) would be submitted to regulator DGH this month for approval of the technical parts. [Aug. 2015]
♦ Gas production is likely to commence in 2018 while crude oil production could start from 2019.[Aug. 2015]
♦ The peak is expected by mid-2021 and peak output level of crude oil will be 90,000 barrels/day and up to 20 MMSCMD of gas. [Aug. 2015]
