回顾：去年10月底，Genworth Financial Inc.，在纽交所上市的美国大型综合金融保险集团，被中国泛海拟斥资约27亿美元收购全部已发行股份。Genworth金融集团是美国最大的长期护理保险公司，并经营寿险和年金业务。Genworth的股东于今年3月投票通过该决定，并表示计划于今年年中完成交易。

Genworth 股东态度：积极支持
96%的Genworth股东投票赞成此次兼并活动，并且认为该计划能为Genworth带来更多资本，使其在美国和中国的业务发展更加稳定健康。
About 96 percent of votes cast of Genworth’s shareholders were voted in favor of the merger,and more stability and growth in the U.S. is expected because of the capital that is coming in.
打开中国大门，Genworth何去何从？
Genworth 的总裁兼首席执行官Thomas J. McInerney近日表示，本次的收购结束后，公司预计继续关注长期护理险，并且认为该产品在中国的保险市场将会迎来更多的机遇。而目前在中国，人口老龄化和家庭长期护理能力下降引发老年人长期护理保险的需求, 这次收购将加速国内健康保险，特别是长期护理保险的发展，有利于促进保险业务结构的调整，有利于保险供给侧的改革。
President and CEO of Genworth, Thomas J. McInerney said that he expects to remain with the company after the deal closes, “I have told Oceanwide that we are three to five years away from finishing the fixing of long-term care, so I am prepared to do that.” McInerney also believed there are also opportunities to build a long-term care insurance business in China.
“We will likely be the global headquarters for China Oceanwide for mortgage insurance, long-term care insurance, life and annuity,” he said.
