Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) has granted power generation license to Akkuyu Nuclear Company for a 49-year period for its Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant project in southern Turkey's Mersin. The electricity generation license will be valid from June 15, 2017.
EMRA also said it would start generating electricity on Oct. 29, 2023, on the centennial anniversary of the Turkish Republic instead of the planed 2025.
The construction of nuclear power plant in Turkey goes quite smoothly recently. So does the Africa Region. As you can see from my last email, Kenya, Jordan, Egypt and other Africa nations are all taking big steps towards NPP construction.
