Dr Mario PAIN is deputy-director for Energy at the General directorate for energie and climate change at thefrench Ministry of the Environnement, Sustainable developpement and Energy.
After graduating as an engineer from the Ecole Centrale de Paris, he sustained a PhD thesis in Plasma Physics, then poursued a career in nuclear research first in EURATOM Jet Joint Undertaking, and at the Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique (CEA) and later in the nuclear production division at Electricité de France (EDF). After attending the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA), he directed the department of management of nuclear emergencies at the french Ministry of the Interior, and was nominated Senior advisor on nuclear matters for the Director-general of energy and climate change, before becoming deputy-director for Energy. |
