Stephen N P Smith founded Algometrics in 1996 after a career in investment banking with Rothschild and Barings Bank in Japan and London. His background in corporate finance involved the financing of infrastructure projects and complex cross-border deals for clients in Asia and Latin America. He also developed quantitative models for asset trading, establishing a hedge fund with a prominent securities firm in Singapore. Since 2003, Algometrics has built a universal laboratory facility in Cambridge for the research and development of viable technologies and techniques for use in advanced nuclear reactor designs. Stephen has a first class degree in Electrical Sciences from Cambridge University and a postgraduate degree in material sciences from Imperial College.
