Lee McDonough
Office for Nuclear Development (OND)

Lee is currently Director of the Office for Nuclear Development in the Department of Energy and Climate Change. She has responsibility for nuclear policy including new build and decommissioning policy.

A career civil servant, Lee started as a nuclear inspector regulating and enforcing controls on discharges of radioactivity from nuclear licensed sites. Following an MBA from Imperial College she moved to work in a range of corporate roles in central government and then led a number of policy portfolios including marine and agriculture policy and then as Director of animal health and welfare policy in the Department of Food and Rural Affairs.
