Welcome Address

Dear Colleagues,

It’s my greatest pleasure, on behalf of the Organizing Committee to welcome you to attend the 5th World Nuclear New Build Congress (UK) 2018, which will be held on September 18-19, London, UK.

Nuclear Power capacity worldwide is increasing steadily as it provides reliable, clean and cost effective electricity. There are 55 reactors under construction worldwide, and various countries are going to include nuclear power into their energy mix. Countries in East and Central Asia, Middle East and Africa, Latin America and Europe are leading the way to build new NPPs.

UK is the spotlight for nuclear new build. Hinkley Point C marked revival of new nuclear in UK and Europe and progresses are being made gradually. The on-going discussion for a new developer of Moorside is believed to push the project forward. Horizon’s Wylfa Newydd is waiting for licenses. While UK’s leaving European Commission and Euratom posed new challenges on the development of nuclear power in the country. Both international and domestic players are devoted to the UK New Build Market; the UK government as well as industry is preparing the development of SMR at the same time.

Therefore, the congress in London, UK, will offer you a comprehensive coverage of the global nuclear new build market with fresh project updates and various case studies. Meanwhile, for those who are keen to find new investment opportunities or strengthen their presence in the global market, especially the UK market, this 2 days congress will provide plenty of opportunities to meet your future partners.

I am looking forward to meeting you in London!

Best regards,

Organizing Committee of 5th World Nuclear New Build Congress (UK) 2018
