Ms. Olga Lugovskaya, PhD in Physics and Maths, assumed her duties as the Head of the Department for Nuclear and Radiation Safety of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus in June 2011.
In 2008 she was appointed the Head of the Office for Science and International Cooperation of the Department for Mitigation of the Consequences of the Catastrophe at Chernobyl NPP (previously referred to as Comchernobyl).
In 2011 Ms. Lugovskaya was appointed the Head of the Department for Nuclear and Radiation Safety of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus (Gosatomnadzor). Being in charge of the regulatory authority, Ms. Lugovskaya is responsible for the supervision activity, inspections, licensing, development of regulatory documents, supervision over compliance with legislation in the field of nuclear and radiation safety.
