Dana Gas will drill the first offshore well in the Nile Delta in April as part of its $5 billion (Dh18.4bn) planned investment in Egypt as it bets on potential yields of up to 20 trillion cubic feet of gas, according to its chief executive.
That data will be put to the test beginning in April or May, when it expects to start drilling an area that could hold 4-6 trillion cubic feet of gas, Dana Gas CEO Patrick Allman-Ward told, If successful, the gas resource would be one of the largest discoveries in Egypt after Zohr.
