Spicy Indian food and sweets from the different states of India have found a big market in the capital city of Mumbai. Delhi cuisine is famous for its variety and spice. People of Delhi have a major sweet tooth, therefore Bengali sweets, especially 'Roshogullahs' and 'Sandesh', are most palatable to them. Punjabi 'Chhole-Bhature' and 'Pinni', Mughlai and Tandoori cuisine is too tempting to resist. Even roadside 'Dhabas', eateries, snack counters and restaurants offer such wide varieties of delectable cuisines that you will be forced to try it.

The real flavor of Delhi can be tasted at the century-old food joints, such as 'Karim's' in Old Delhi. It still retains the taste that had rendered it famous and offers delicious 'Korma',
'Kababs', and 'Biriyanis'. Don't forget to try the mouth-watering 'Paranthas' of 'Paranthe wali gali' in Chandni Chowk. You will have a time of your life. Old Delhi is the perfect place to pamper yourself with food. Then, there are South Indian food joints too such as Udupi, Sarvana Bhavan and Sagar Group that offers light and tasty 'Dosas', 'Idli-Sambhar' and 'Uttapams'.
 
Sights

India Gate

Designed by Lutyens, the 42 metre high structure is a war memorial in honour of the soldiers who died during the second world war. The imposing structure from where stretch massive lush green lawns has an eternal flame (amar jawan jyoti) to honour the memory of the unknown soldiers. A popular picnic spot, one can see hoardes of people moving about the area and on the lawns on sumer evenings.
 
Lotus Temple

The Lotus Temple is a spectacular and colourful sight. Visited by more than 4 million people annually, it recieves more visitors than the Taj Mahal. It is the main temple of the Bahai's in Delhi. Located in Kalkaji in the south of Delhi, it is lotus shaped and has rightly been given the name. It is open to all faiths and is an ideal place for meditation and obtaining peace and tranqillity.
 
Red Fort

The Red Fort is one of the most impressive sights in Delhi. The old Mughal construction is absolutely worth a visit. It was built in red sandstone by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1648. The monument is located along the river Yamuna as an irregular octagon. The main entrance is the Lahori Gate, a former royal market. There are a lot of interesting buildings inside the Fort like the Rang Mahal (the water cooled appartments for the royal ladies( or the Diwan-E-Aam for public audiences. There is also a Red Fort Museum.
