Blockchain is a distributed open ledger. This means that any data that is shared between business partners is both transparent and immutable. Nowadays, It’s incredibly difficult for our customers or buyers to truly know the value of products because there is a significant lack of transparency in our current system. It can also be highly inefficient as vendors and suppliers try to connect the dots on who needs what, when and how. The usefulness of blockchain within the logistics sector has too often been undermined. Many Fortune 500 companies have yet to realize the future possibilities of cryptocurrency and blockchain. Since every transaction is recorded on a block and across multiple copies of the ledger that are distributed over many nodes (computers), it is highly transparent. Ultimately, blockchain can increase the efficiency and transparency of supply chains and positively impact everything from warehousing to delivery to payment. Recently, IBM has signed a memorandum of understanding with Singapore’s Pacific International Lines (PIL), port operator PSA International, which aimed to improve security, efficiency, and transparency in regional supply chain business networks. Moreover, The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is actively exploring blockchain technology to increase the circulation of digital trade in Singapore. She is known as an effective leader in setting inspiring goals, motivating her teams to strive for high performance and guiding them to deliver operational excellence. Transformation is another key experience that Chiang Choon possesses whereby she had led in innovation to drive productivity, organization design and resource consolidation to align to the company and business unit’s strategy. As the General Manager of IBM Manufacturing Solutions, Chiang Choon Ng leads the Supply Chain Manufacturing operation in Singapore to deliver operational goals as well as engaging in client related projects.
