Dear Colleagues,
As the No. 1 nuclear energy event in the region, the Turkey-MENA Nuclear Industry Congress has successfully attracted around 500 very high level decision makers and industry leaders in the past 3 years. Based on the huge successes we have achieved, we are very glad to announce the 4th annual Turkey-MENA Nuclear Industry Congress 2016, endorsed by EUAS, will be held on May 12-13, in Istanbul, Turkey. And I am warmly welcoming you to join this event.
Turkey: The ground broken ceremony for Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant was held on April 15th, 2015. And construction job is expected to begin late this year or in 2016
as soon as the project company gets the construction license from TAEK. Currently, technical feasibility studies and EIA are being conducted on Sinop site, and
the processes are expected to be completed in 2016. IGA has already been ratified by Turkish Parliament on April 2015, and the project company will be
established in the near future, which will apply for site license after the approval of TFS and EIA. Site survey is in the process for the third NPP in Turkey.
Jordan: Told by Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC), the JNPP will lay its first concrete at the beginning of 2019 and terms of construction is to be clear by the
spring of 2017. Besides the big rector units for power, Jordan also plans to build SMRs for sea water desalination.
Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia is requiring 18 GW nuclear power capacities by 2032, and KA-CARE was established to make that happen. Almost all the technology vendor
countries are in the talks with Saudi Arabia to build nuclear power plants. Both big reactor units and SMRs are in the needs of the Kingdom.
UAE: The Barakah NPP is as good in reputation as the Belarus first NPP. So far, the 4-unit project is almost 75% completed and always kept on time and within
budget. UAE has done a great job to localize nuclear technologies and human resources.
Egypt: Rosatom has got the deal of constructing 4 units each 1200 MWe in Dabaa after the intergovernmental agreement signed between Russia and Egypt on 19th,
November 2015. According to the agreement, Russia will provide a loan to be repayed over 35 years after the plant operation.
Therefore, the congress in Istanbul, will offer you a comprehensive coverage of the nuclear new build market with fresh project updates and various case studies.
Meanwhile, for those who are keen to find new investment opportunities or strengthen their presence in the global market, especially the Turkey-MENA market, this
two days congress will provide plenty of opportunities to meet your future partners.
