Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues,

On Behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am honored to invite you to Textile & Garment Myanmar Summit 2020. The summit will be held on June 29-30, 2020 in Yangon, Myanmar.

Myanmar’s garment industry has grown significantly in the past years, from an export value of US$900 million in 2012 to $4.6 billion in 2018. The growth of Myanmar’s garment sector has taken place at a time when wages are comparatively lower than in other regional production hubs, employers can access a young labour force, the Generalised System of Preferences (GSP) grants duty-free exports to Europe, 100% FDI into Myanmar is allowed, and beneficial trade agreements are accessible.

According to EuroCham, global players sourcing in Myanmar include Adidas, Arrow, Deuter, Esprit, GAP, Marks & Spencer, New Look, Primark, and Top Shop. Out of the 533 factories in Myanmar, over a quarter are accredited and published suppliers of these European brands, while the rest focus on other brands such as Top Shop, Deuter and Arrow. The number of orders placed for international brands in Myanmar is increasing at a rapid pace. Market-players have been engaging in the country with different operating models.

Textile & Garment Myanmar Summit 2020 aims to be the most influential event to bridge international community and Myanmar market, by introducing investment opportunities and engagement rules, sharing good practices of invest-in-Myanmar and made-in-Myanmar, together with social compliance issues and sourcing strategy discussion.

We sincerely look forward to meeting you in Yangon, Myanmar.

Best, Regards
