Dear Colleagues,

Textile industry in Myanmar has a positive development curve, which is nationalized during the period 1962-1988, garment exports increased from 2.5% of total exports to 39.5% from 1990 to 2001 and flourishing in recent years.

In the process of development, there are not only opportunities, such as cheap labor, shorter sea route, favorable government schemes, duty-free trade pacts and strong sourcing base for retailers and brands in Myanmar, but also challenges, including economic and political stability, lack of skilled labor, weak supply chain, low productivity, poor infrastructure and technology and complicated and inefficient laws and regulations.

There will be a session (Made in Myanmar: Production, Supply Chain, Labor) discussing relevant contents. On Behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am honored to invite you to the Textile & Garment Myanmar Summit 2020. The summit will be held on June 29-30, 2020 in Yangon, Myanmar.
