Happy New Year!

At the beginning of 2015, I would like to summarize what happened in Turkey-MENA Nuclear Industry:

Turkey
Westinghouse, China’s SNPTC and EÜAŞ announced an agreement to enter into exclusive negotiation to develop and construct a four-unit nuclear power plant site in Turkey.

Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yıldız stated “The construction of the nuclear power plant in Akkuyu will start next spring. We want to break ground for the Akkuyu nuclear plant in March or April.”

Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia and China have signed an agreement to boost cooperation in the production and peaceful use of nuclear and renewable energy.

Egypt
The Egyptian government is planning to give public notice of an international bid for building the second new nuclear plant at El-Dabaa early next year.

UAE
The first of four nuclear reactors being built by the United Arab Emirates will come on line in 2017 and the rest will be fully operational by 2020.

Jordan
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed an agreement to build Jordan’s first nuclear power plant. It will be a joint project with Russia’s Rosatom nuclear power corporation.

Iran
Saudi Arabia, Russia optimistic about Iran's nuclear deal.
