Dr. Giorgio Locatelli, is a lecturer of Infrastructure Procurement and Management at the University of Leeds (UK). He has a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering (2006) and a PhD in industrial engineering, economics and management from the Polytechnic of Milan (Italy) (2010). His main research topic is economics and project management in the power and energy industry with a focus on small modular reactors (SMR).
Giorgio started to work on the competiveness of SMR in 2006 with a six months internship in Westinghouse USA focused on the project appraisal of IRIS reactor, one of the first SMR.
Giorgio works also as a consultant and visiting academic for several institutions. He is author of more than 80 international publications, the majority of them focused on nuclear power, project management, energy economics and policy, energy storage, megaprojects. He chartered engineer and a fellow of the higher education academy.
